Under the Program Fazendo Justiça, actions in this area focus on safeguarding fundamental rights during detention control hearings; implementing measures and penalties that provide alternatives to incarceration; ensuring civil identification and documentation; improving the electronic monitoring of people as an alternative to imprisonment; and managing and rationalizing the use of available places in the prison system.
